Green Design

Creating sustainable design and marketing solutions

At Chix Creative, we want to help your brand and your business gain success in the most environmentally- and socially-responsible way possible. We are advocates for “going green,” in our personal lives, and our work lives. We would love to help incorporate our philosophy into your business initiatives.

So, what does it mean to “go green” in business? Here are a few questions we get asked often about our way of working. After all, our commitment to a healthier, happier planet differentiates us from many other agencies.

Q: Is “going green” just about using less paper?
A: Yes, and no. Of course, if you have a business goal that requires using paper, we will aim to meet this goal. What’s different about us is that we will consider what kind of paper to use and discuss eco-friendly options with you. Also, if it makes more sense to achieve the initiative electronically – with an e-mail campaign as opposed to direct mail, for example – we will discuss those options with you as well. We want you to be successful, and we believe business success and doing good for the environment can go hand-in-hand.

Q: How do you “go green” with the materials you use?
A: We make sure that whatever we do is sustainable, first and foremost. This means that if we are creating promotional t-shirts, we will look to use sustainable fibers or organic cotton. We may choose soy inks that are non-toxic to the environment. Packaging for your products could be something innovative and sustainable, that people could reuse, recycle or compost.

Most agencies do not discuss materials used with their clients. They may just go with the “standard” option, without considering alternatives. We will discuss material usage with you and help encourage a shift toward sustainable solutions for your business needs.

Q: If “going green” is not just about paper and materials, what else is it about?
A: “Going green” is an overall philosophy. Yes, it affects the materials we use when doing business, but it also impacts the causes we promote and the messages we communicate when building your brand. We use green materials, but in the interest of positive change, we also work to craft ideas and messages that resonate with target audiences and have much more communicative power than the materials we choose. We work with you to create brand messaging that aligns with a “green” approach to living and working.

Q: What is “green design” and can that also be “good” design?
A: In general, marketing design has the power to communicate. With an image, we can represent a brand and what it stands for, and communicate positive messages. Green graphic design is all about using this power of design to emphasize the importance of eco-friendly, sustainable solutions. When we do design for your brand, it will not only be great by industry standards, but it will also incorporate green thinking. Overall, we want the look-and-feel of your brand to be not only aesthetically superior, but also socially and ecologically conscious.
